Matt Shaw
President & Founder

Matt was born and raised in Carpinteria, which he then left to continue his education at Fresno State before coming back to Santa Barbara to work in the concrete industry for over the last 20 years. After working for various companies, including a family-owned company where his father worked, he ventured out and started Shaw Concrete Construction in 2004. Eventually, in 2010, he incorporated his business as Matt Shaw Concrete, Inc. and has been growing his business and refining the workmanship and quality of his brand ever since. In his spare time, Matt enjoys outdoor life, including surfing, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and snowboarding in the mountains of Mammoth. He shares his love for these activities with his sons, his wife, and their dogs. Matt also enjoys sponsoring and volunteering for sports leagues and events in Santa Barbara, especially those his sons are involved in. He takes pride in his company, and most of all, in his family.

Christa King
Corporate Treasurer & Secretary / Administration

Christa grew up in Lompoc and began working in Santa Barbara in various financial and business management jobs, and started in the construction industry working for a local General Contractor in 2002. She has been simultaneously working in General Contracting along with Subcontractors since starting for Matt Shaw Concrete Inc., in 2010. Christa has been an essential part of the company and takes care of all business management & administrative matters, freeing Matt to focus on his jobs, and most importantly, on his clients. In her free time, Christa enjoys horse riding & giving lessons, playing soccer & softball in local leagues around the county, as well as volunteering for nonprofits such as the Valley Penning Association (Santa Ynez) and more importantly, the Santa Barbara Contractors Association, where she is currently the Vice President of the Board and can be found working hard to improve the organization for us as and our fellow industry professionals.

Robert (Bob) Martinez
Estimator & Superintendent

Since working with his father in high school, Bob has been in the concrete industry for over 42 years. What Bob enjoys most in his trade is the fact that you can build something from start to completion, do it well, and that the work will be around for years to come. He likes that he can still see his work while he drives throughout Santa Barbara and passes previous projects. Matt Shaw Concrete Inc. has been blessed to have Bob working for us for several years, and we look forward to many more to come! Bob has enjoyed living in Santa Barbara his whole life and raising his family here. He enjoys hanging out at the beach, fishing, just sitting poolside, or watching his grandchildren play sports.

Salvador (Sal) Garcia
Foreman

Sal has been working in the concrete industry for over 30 years. Sal started as a Laborer and five years later became a Foreman. Sal has been helping Matt run successful jobs since 2006 and has been an integral part of the company and building process. Sal “likes to build.” He likes to see projects from start to finish, and he enjoys seeing the work come together at the end. He takes great pride in his work and the work he oversees. Sal loves his music, he loves his family, loves to enjoy life, and he is an avid soccer fan.

Roberto Jimenez-Morales
Foreman

Roberto has been working in the concrete industry for over 20 years. Throughout the years, he has moved from Laborer to Foreman. This industry has taught him so much, and he grows with it. He likes many things about his job, including the stress, the numbers, and everything in between. His hard work and dedication contribute to his great success in the industry. We are thankful to have had Roberto working with us since 2012, and he has been a great attribute to the company. Roberto pays excellent attention to detail and budgets and is sure to keep everyone on task, including us in the office. Roberto loves his family, loves working alongside his brothers, and treats everyone with respect and a smile.
