Local Spotlight: Santa Barbara Contractors Association

In our vibrant coastal county of Santa Barbara, where picturesque landscapes meet stunning architecture, the construction industry plays a pivotal role in shaping the community. Local businesses and homeowners alike lean on the support and collaboration of organizations like the Santa Barbara Contractors Association that are dedicated to growth for construction and trade professionals. The SBCA has been instrumental for our business, and we are proud to be a part of this resource-prolific organization.

What Is The SBCA?

Founded in 1948, the Santa Barbara Contractors Association has been a pillar of strength for the construction industry in Santa Barbara County for 75 years. Their mission is to promote and enhance the construction industry's professionalism, integrity, and sustainability, while also advocating for a business-friendly environment. They offer a diverse range of services, resources, and networking opportunities to both established contractors and budding construction-industry entrepreneurs.

Why We Support The SBCA

1. EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE SHARING

In the ever-evolving world of construction, staying updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices is crucial. The SBCA organizes workshops, seminars, and training sessions that equip businesses like ours with the latest knowledge and skills. Their commitment to education helps us deliver top-notch services to our clients and ensures our team's safety and well-being on the job. This year, due to a lack of in person trainings during the COVID-19 years, they SBCA is holding their 1st Educational Symposium which will take place on Wednesday, September 27th. This event is an effort to provide a full day of informative classes on topics like California laws for the construction industry, HR best practices for construction professionals, and safety & risk management, to get more information and education that we have been missing.

This year, we are taking things personal, and are very proud to say that our own company officer, Christa King, is the new Vice President of the organization and she is working hard behind the scenes to ensure that our members get the information we all need to remain knowledgeable and sustainable in our business practices while growing our own company team and roles.

Building strong connections within the construction community is vital for growth. SBCA provides various networking events and platforms, allowing us to connect with potential clients, suppliers, and other industry professionals. These connections have led to valuable partnerships that have benefited our business immensely.

3. RESOURCE CENTER

The SBCA website serves as a valuable resource hub for contractors. It offers access to a wide range of tools, including legal resources, industry news, and safety guidelines. This readily available information has helped us make informed decisions and streamline our operations.
