An Elevated Home on sandpoint road
We have the pleasure of working with RHC Construction to complete the concrete for a new project in Carpinteria’s beautiful Sandpoint community. Currently in the middle stages of pouring, the property is steadily transforming into a luxurious beachside residence.
The Foundation
The project’s foundation is a complex podium-style layout. Ensuring that every element, including the garage, columns, podium, and deck, work seamlessly together is a challenging and rewarding task. Beneath the podium lies a spacious, two-car garage with additional room for storage. Facing the ocean, the podium extends beyond the garage and is supported by tall sonotube columns of solid concrete.
Board Formed Concrete and a Rustic-Modern Design
Using board-formed concrete throughout, our work creates a rustic-modern aesthetic that mimics the area’s natural beauty. While an increasingly popular architectural finish, board-formed concrete requires meticulous craftsmanship. Due to the coastal climate, we are using fiberglass ties to form the boards. Fiberglass offers many advantages over steel - it resists water seepage and never rusts, which prevents stains. As seen throughout the photographs, the ties will be cut and cleaned to leave a smooth finish.
Elements of Luxury
Adjacent to the podium-style house, our team elevated the pool to bring it to the same level as the rest of the home. Every line on the board-formed walls matches the lines on the pool, creating cohesive design details. The deck, which is under construction, will connect from the house and run flush to the top of the pool. Overlooking Carpinteria’s Salt Marsh Reserve and the Los Padres Mountains, the pool and adjacent sauna are luxurious corners of the home. Residents can slip out of bed and soak up the poolside sun.
It is a privilege to work alongside RHC Construction on this incredible project, and we are excited for the final product once the concrete is complete.
