Revitalizing Community Spaces: The Girsh Park Project

Matt Shaw Concrete is proud to be able to contribute new baseball fields at Girsh Park to the Santa Barbara community. The project has garnered significant attention from residents and organizations, all of who are excited about the positive impact it will have on the community.

Building For The Community
Having recently completed a major project at the local baseball fields, Matt Shaw and his team are excited to see the final product come to life. Community is at the heart of what they do, so it is an honor to have worked with some of the best in the industry while giving back to the community along the way.

Fields Reimagined
The team focused on designated practice areas to optimize the baseball fields. They worked tirelessly to construct a new batting cage and two new pitching areas, installing over 2,500 feet of electrical conduit to ensure the fields were well-lit and functional.

Keeping gameplay logistics in mind, they also added new announcers to both areas at the junior's field. This will make it easier for coaches and players to communicate throughout a game.

Sturdy Foundation
In addition to these improvements, they made sure to prioritize safety. The team worked on grading and excavation, exporting soils, and compacting the base, ensuring that the fields were level and safe for players.

To top it off, they poured concrete and created a sturdy foundation for the new structures. As soon as everything was dry, they carefully cleaned up the site once the project was complete.

A Homerun
Despite facing several challenges, including inclement weather and a tight timeline due to the delayed start in January, Matt Shaw and his team completed the project in an impressive ten days, just in time for the opening ceremonies.

The new and improved baseball fields are a renewed source of pride for the community and a testament to Matt Shaw's dedication to delivering quality work and contributing to the local community.
